Pune or Satara departure

  1. MORNING

    🌅

    Pune or Satara departure

Ghats climb, monsoon cloud build-up, corn stalls en route

Leave early to beat weekend traffic on the Pune–Satara highway. As you turn toward Thoseghar village, the air cools and mist drifts through teak — the first hint of the Konkan escarpment. Stop for chai at a roadside stall if the cloud base is low.

  2. AFTERNOON

    ☀️

    Thoseghar main viewpoint

200 m cascade, forest platform, gorge acoustics

Park at the designated lot and walk to the principal viewing platform. In peak monsoon the main fall thunders into the gorge — allow time for mist to clear between showers. Smaller tiered falls are visible along the ravine to your left.

  3. EVENING

    🌇

    Satara town check-in

    Kandi pedhe, historic core stroll

Settle into Satara for the night — the city makes a practical base for Kaas Plateau and Sajjangad. Sample the famous milk sweets and plan tomorrow’s ridge drive to Chalkewadi.
